Product Usage:

Tribromoneopentyl Alcohol (RX-973) is a reactive flame retardant widely used in elastomers, coatings and foams, and is also an important pharmaceutical intermediate. It's mainly used as a reactive intermediate in high molecular weight flame retardants, and its high solubility allows it to combine very effectively with phosphorus to act as a reactive flame retardant in polyurethanes; it can be used in rigid or flexible polyurethanes to improve their flame retardancy; it can be used in combination with dibromoneopentyl alcohol to take advantage of their hydroxyl functionality.

Product Performance:

Tribromoneopentyl Alcohol (RX-973) contains approximately 73% aliphatic bromine. It has a high bromine content and exceptional stability, particularly excellent in heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance and light stability. It can be used to produce flame retardant elastomers with ethyl carbamate groups through its monohydroxyl functional reaction and has good compatibility. It is widely used in elastomers, coating foams and polyurethane materials as a reactive flame retardant for polyurethane and can be applied to rigid or soft polyurethane to improve its flame retardancy rating.
